Colt Starting, Training & Tune-Ups
We take great pride in being an individualized training facility that offers training to cater to you and your horse's specific needs. Whether that is a restart, tune-up or being started for the very first time, we are here to work with you to achieve success. We use a variety of training methods to best teach to each horse on an individual basis to maximize positive results.
Colt Starting
The importance of starting a horse right is crucial to help them achieve their best potential as well as yours as their partner. Their initial foundation paves the way for the rest of their life and we don't take that lightly. We instill each horse started here with the best foundation possible during their time here. We ensure they leave here with the skills on the ground and under saddle they need to thrive.
Tune-Ups
Whether there is a specific behavioral issue you would like us to work through or maybe you've got a horse that's been put on the back burner for a few months you'd like us to prep for riding season, we will cater a tune-up package just for you. We offer 30, 60, 90 and 120 day tune-ups and work one-on-one with both you and your horse to help you get back in the saddle and enjoy it.
Trail Training
Our Trail Training program is catered specifically for horses who need to get out and see more or work through fears on the trail. We know it's difficult and time consuming to work through all the obstacles horses can have issues with on the trails, that's why we're here to do it for you. This training program guarantees 6 day a week riding with 3x a week off-site riding on trails. Horses will learn to load and unload off of trailers, cross water, deadfall, mud, etc..., maintain their speed on the trail, overcome object and sound spookiness (where applicable), stand to be mounted, ride alone and in a group, carry saddlebags and much more. Let us do the hard work so you can sit back and enjoy the ride.
The Process
We pride ourselves in being VERY inclusive during the training process. Whether you want to come watch a training, join in for a ride or just visit your horse, we are happy to cater to you! We know it can be nerve-wracking to send your horse away and we want to make it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. We provide regular video/picture updates and keep owners as involved as possible. We also know the importance of integrating the training we've taught the horse into the hands of the rider. During the final days with us, we schedule rides with owners so we can teach first-hand the corrections and skills we've taught to the horse and work through them one-on-one.
